香港众志秘书长黄之锋区议会选举提名资格被取消的消息受到美国国会关注。来自两党
的多位国会参众议员在推特上发文，批评香港政府的决定是破坏香港法治。
“单独禁止黄之锋参选即将举行的区议会选举是再次破坏香港法治和‘一国两制’原则
，” 众议院议长佩洛西10月29日在推特上发文称。 她说：“香港人民应该要能选择他
们的民选官员。”

黄之锋星期二（10月29日）收到其登记参加的海怡西选区选举主任蔡亮的通知书，裁定
黄之锋提名无效。通知书表示，黄之锋提交提名表格时显然不会有意图拥护基本法和保
证效忠香港特区。
黄之锋是定于11月24日举行的新一届区议会选举唯一被取消参选资格（DQ）的候选人。
美国国会参众两院外交委员会先后在推特上发文，谴责香港政府取消黄之锋参选资格的
决定。
参议院外交委员会的推特直言批评称，“香港禁止黄之锋参加民主选举的决定是中国共
产党过分干预的又一个实例。”

参议院外交委员会主席里施参议员（Sen. Jim Risch, R-ID）和委员会首席民主党议员
梅嫩德斯（Sen. Bob Menendez, D-NJ）上个月曾与黄之锋等一行人在国会上进行会面。
梅嫩德斯参议员也在推特上发文，呼吁国会尽快通过《香港人权与民主法案》。
《香港人权与民主法案》目前正在参议院审议中，众议院则在本月16日即无异议通过该
法案。法案必须在参众两院都通过并由总统签字后才会生效。目前这部法案参议院议事
日程中仍未出现新的进展。
